Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamud Moalim Abdulle, held a meeting with Ms. Merete Dyrud, Chargé d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy to Somalia.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two sides, particularly in humanitarian response and community development.
Ms. Dyrud reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s efforts in disaster management and addressing humanitarian challenges, pledging increased assistance in emergency relief services and programs targeting vulnerable communities.
For his part, the SoDMA Commissioner thanked the Government of Norway for its continued strategic support, noting its vital role in building Somalia’s disaster response capacity and supporting community recovery.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation, with both parties expressing determination to work closely on humanitarian and development priorities for the Somali people.
