Mogadishu, Somalia – In a stirring display of national unity and recognition, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud convened a special meeting with female officers of the Somali armed forces to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. The gathering, marked by the festive spirit of the holiday, served as a platform for the President to express his profound gratitude for the officers’ unwavering dedication to their nation.

“Your selfless service in defending our homeland, safeguarding our sovereignty, and upholding the dignity of the Somali people is an inspiration to us all,” President Mohamud stated. He emphasized the pivotal role of women in the fabric of Somali society, declaring them to be the “backbone of Somalia’s government.”

In a call to action, President Mohamud encouraged the officers to intensify their efforts in the ongoing struggle for liberation. He highlighted the importance of bolstering the national forces and enhancing public awareness in the fight against the Khawarij.

The meeting underscored the administration’s commitment to gender equality and the significant contributions of women in the pursuit of peace and stability in Somalia. As the nation observed the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, President Mohamud’s message resonated with hope and the promise of a brighter future for all Somalis.
