Mogadishu, Somalia – In a Friday address to the nation, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud outlined key priorities for Somalia’s future. His speech covered critical topics, including the ongoing war against the Khawarij, economic growth, and democratic processes.

President Mohamud emphasized that eradicating the Khawarij remains the government’s top priority. The fight against this extremist group will continue until the entire country is liberated. He expressed concern about the Khawarij’s efforts to tarnish Mogadishu’s image.

Discussing the electoral process, President Mohamud affirmed that every Somali citizen should have the opportunity to cast their vote. He stated, “Somalia will not be ruled by someone who is not chosen by the people.” The government aims to ensure fair and transparent elections, allowing citizens to actively participate in shaping their nation’s future.

President Mohamud highlighted impressive economic growth, with the country’s economy expanding by nearly 100%. He attributed this growth to ongoing projects across all regions of Somalia. “Our country is in a better place today than it was yesterday,” he declared. Encouraging investment, he expressed confidence in Somalia’s financial structure and welcomed international support for major development initiatives.

As Somalia continues its journey toward stability and prosperity, President Mohamud’s address shows the government’s commitment to security, democracy, and economic advancement. The world’s confidence in Somalia’s potential plays a crucial role in shaping its trajectory.
