Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, conducted an inspection visit to the Danab Special Forces military base in Dhusamareb, where construction work is nearing completion.
The Army Chief was received at the facility by senior officers led by Colonel Mohamed Bashir Sheikh Aligood Barqadle, Commander of the 163rd Battalion of the 16th Danab Brigade. During the visit, the commander received briefings from officers overseeing the project on the progress of the construction and ongoing activities at the camp.
Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud also addressed troops from the 163rd Battalion of the 16th Danab Brigade, urging them to strengthen their commitment to national duties and intensify operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists. He commended the forces for their sacrifice, courage, and continued vigilance in confronting enemy threats.
The Army Commander emphasized that the new military facility will play a significant role in enhancing the operational capacity and readiness of the Danab forces and the Somali National Army as a whole. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting and strengthening the country’s armed forces.
Officials supervising the construction said the project has reached its final stages and is expected to be officially completed in the near future.
