Parliament Speaker Officially Opens High-Level Forum Highlighting New Era in Somalia-Türkiye Strategic Ties

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Abdukadir Mohamed Nur, officially opened a high-level forum in Mogadishu themed, “A New Era in Türkiye–Somalia Relations: Trust, Cooperation, and Strategic Partnership”.
Organized by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, the landmark conference gathered government officials, diplomats, academics, and experts to chart the future course of bilateral relations.
Opening the event, Speaker Abdukadir focused his remarks squarely on the deep, historic friendship binding Mogadishu and Ankara, defining the relationship as a model of mutual respect and genuine solidarity.
He emphasized that diplomatic and institutional ties between the two nations have successfully evolved into a robust strategic alliance, deeply anchored in mutual trust and aligned long-term objectives.
Highlighting decades of close cooperation, the Speaker commended Türkiye’s steadfast backing during critical moments, specifically pointing to Turkish investments in security, institutional capacity, and infrastructural development across Somalia.
Aligning with the forum's core theme, he reaffirmed the Somali parliament's total commitment to advancing legislative frameworks and cooperative agreements that seamlessly facilitate deeper integration and joint progress between the two nations.
