Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The capital of Mogadishu gears up to host an international delegation from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as the country seeks to elevate its presence on the global football stage.
The delegation will assess the development of football infrastructure and programs in Somalia, with an eye toward positioning the country as a potential host for future international matches, particularly at the historic Mogadishu Stadium—locally known as (Tuulada Ciyaaraha).
Among the visiting dignitaries are African football legends Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Jay-Jay Okocha, who will join FIFA and CAF officials on this landmark visit.
The delegation is expected to arrive on May 27 and will tour key sports facilities and cultural landmarks across Mogadishu as part of their engagement with Somalia’s growing sports sector.
