Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Maareeye), held a key meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters with representatives of the rice production company “Danwadaag” to officially transfer the allocated funds for the procurement of modern rice farming machinery.
Also present at the meeting were the State Minister of Agriculture, the Director General, and several departmental directors. The Minister urged the company to ensure a transparent and efficient implementation process, emphasizing the importance of addressing the real needs of Somali farmers.
Minister Maareeye highlighted that the new machinery will play a critical role in easing farmers’ workload and boosting local agricultural production. The initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to improve agricultural services and strengthen Somalia’s domestic economy.
