Abidjan, (SONNA) – For the first time on African soil, Ivory Coast will host the prestigious World Transhumanist Congress, scheduled to take place on November 27–28, 2025, at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Cocody, Abidjan.
Held under the theme “Transhumanism and the Development of Africa”, the congress is organized by the Ivorian Society of Transhumanism (SIVOT) in collaboration with the French Transhumanist Association (AFT-Technoprog), the African Institute of Bioethics, and the international organization Humanity+, a global leader in transhumanist thought.
More than 40 renowned experts from 20 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas are expected to participate in the event. They will engage in high-level discussions on artificial intelligence, biotechnology, digital ethics, enhanced health, and the broader future of humanity.

- Laurent Alexandre – French surgeon and AI-health entrepreneur
- Jean-Marc Besnier – French philosopher and technology ethics expert
- Ebenezer Njoh Mouelle – Cameroonian philosopher and African transhumanist thought leader
- Marc Roux – President, AFT-Technoprog (France)
- Stefano Vaj – President, Italian Transhumanist Association
- José Luis Cordeiro – Venezuelan-Spanish engineer and futurist
- Didier Coeurnelle – Belgian human rights advocate in transhumanism
- Ben Goertzel – Leading figure in artificial general intelligence
- Ojochogwu Abdul – Afropolitan futurist and Founder of Transhumanist Africa
This landmark congress marks a historic turning point for Africa as it seeks to become an active player in shaping the global technological landscape. It offers a platform to explore how future technologies can drive human, economic, and institutional development across the continent.
