Commerce Minister Calls for Greater Trade and Investment as Somalia Deepens EAC Integration

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Jamal Mohamed Hassan delivered the opening keynote at the East Africa Business Council (EABC) CEOs Trade and Investment Roundtable in Mogadishu, bringing together business leaders from Somalia and across the East African Community (EAC).

Minister Jamal reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to translating its EAC membership into increased trade, investment, stronger businesses and job creation.

He stressed that regional economic integration must deliver tangible benefits for people and economies, highlighting the importance of strengthening business ties and creating greater opportunities for private-sector growth across the region.
