Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Special Envoy of the President of Somalia for the East African Community (EAC) Abdisalam Omar Hadliye said that the ongoing process of Somalia joining the EAC was at a good stage.
Hadliye said that Joining the EAC will be an eminent step toward development, and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is determined to join the Union which consists of 7 members States.
“About 30-40 delegations from the EAC will arrive in Mogadishu from the 22nd of this month to the 3rd of the following month, and they will inspect the country’s situation and how the government works in the areas of the economy, politics, and the country’s production”, He said.
The talks between Somalia and the East African Community are going on smoothly and the Government is pushing for entry into the community to take advantage of the economic advancements in the region.
