Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held an important consultative meeting with a group of prominent Somali poets and literary figures to discuss the vital role of Somali arts and literature in strengthening public awareness, state-building efforts, and reviving national identity.
President Hassan Sheikh commended the Somali poets for their longstanding and invaluable contribution to defending the nation’s unity, preserving Somali culture, and delivering messages that inspire and educate the public. He emphasized that literature and poetry remain key pillars in rebuilding national consciousness and reinforcing social cohesion among the Somali people.
The meeting was also attended by the President’s Advisor on Public Awareness and Civic Mobilization, Mr. Abdirahman Abdikarim Abdi. During the discussions, the poets shared views and recommendations on promoting Somali culture, strengthening patriotism, and utilizing Somali creative arts to advance peace, governance, and national development.
