Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulfatah Kasim Mohamud, today met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, H.E. Wang Yu, at the Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of information, media, culture, and tourism. The two sides also discussed the importance of the strategic partnership between Somalia and China.
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism expressed his appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its continued support to Somalia, underscoring the importance of further enhancing bilateral cooperation in general, especially in the areas of information, media, culture, and tourism. The Minister also emphasized the significance of joint efforts by the two nations to safeguard their sovereignty and territorial integrity against any violations.
For his part, Ambassador Wang Yu warmly welcomed the newly appointed Minister of Information and commended the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador reaffirmed the Chinese Government’s commitment to continuing its support for Somalia and to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual priority, including information, culture, and tourism.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to accelerate and further advance the strengthening of relations and cooperation between Somalia and the People’s Republic of China, with the aim of promoting shared interests and reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
