Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab, on Monday inaugurated the newly renovated and modernized headquarters of Shangani District, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and improving public service delivery.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Muungaab said the reconstruction and modernization of government institutions are essential to improving community services and building public trust. He noted that the Banaadir Regional Administration remains committed to expanding and upgrading public service facilities, describing the initiative as part of returning taxpayers’ contributions to residents of the Somali capital.
The mayor also called on organizations involved in Eid livestock slaughter activities and financially capable individuals to support and assist vulnerable communities during the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations.
He further praised the recent security gains achieved in Mogadishu and urged stronger cooperation between the public and security agencies to sustain stability.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Somalia’s Minister of Family and Human Rights Development, Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, Deputy Minister of Public Works Mohamed Hussein Gaaraxo, Banaadir Regional Administration Deputy Governor for Social Affairs and Public Awareness Abdiaziz Osman Mohamed, Shangani District Commissioner, traditional elders, regional directors and other distinguished guests.
