Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab, on Saturday night chaired a high-level security meeting focused on accelerating efforts to reinforce security in the capital, strengthen coordination between security agencies and district administrations, and prevent insecurity and organized criminal activities threatening public stability.
The meeting also reviewed enforcement of the recent directive issued by the Mayor suspending all land enforcement, eviction, and road-opening operations across Mogadishu. Officials emphasized the need to maintain joint security plans aimed at protecting residents of the capital and surrounding areas while safeguarding the city’s ongoing growth and development.
Mayor Muungaab stressed that ensuring peace and stability in Mogadishu remains central to the development of both the capital and Somalia as a whole, urging officials and security agencies to intensify efforts to preserve public safety.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor for Security and Politics of Banaadir Region, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye, Banaadir Regional Police Commander Col. Mahdi Omar Mumin, Banaadir Intelligence Commander Col. Libaan Abdirahman Adan, Police Military Force Commander Col. Adan Jeelle Farah, district commissioners, and local police and intelligence commanders from across Banaadir Region.
