MOGADISHU (SONNA) — Advancing the Federal Government’s mandate to secure durable solutions for vulnerable populations, Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre officially launched the “Strengthening Urban Resilience of Displaced and Host Communities in Doolow” project today. This critical initiative is engineered to drive social integration, economic stabilization, and long-term resilience for communities disproportionately impacted by displacement and severe climate events.

During the executive launch ceremony, the Prime Minister articulated that the project is a central component of the administration’s broader national security and economic growth strategy. By directly improving the livelihoods of both internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities, the Federal Government is proactively neutralizing the socio-economic vulnerabilities that threaten regional stability. He reiterated the state’s uncompromising commitment to establishing permanent, prosperous settlements for those affected by historical conflicts and recurrent droughts.

Addressing the specific demographic in Doolow, Prime Minister Hamza acknowledged the severe historical hardships endured by the local population. He affirmed that the current administration is heavily prioritizing actionable, high-impact projects designed to transition these communities from crisis management to sustainable prosperity.

The resilience framework integrates climate adaptation protocols with immediate economic interventions. The state is executing comprehensive resettlement programs, targeted vocational training, and aggressive job creation initiatives. Furthermore, the project actively injects capital and logistical support into the agricultural, livestock, and small enterprise sectors, ensuring a highly diversified and robust local economy that can withstand future climate shocks.
