Mogadishu(SONNA)-Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia,H.E, Da’ud Aweis Jama, on Wednesday held a productive meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Somalia, Justin Davis, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the two officials focused on key areas of mutual interest, including media development, public awareness initiatives, and efforts to counter terrorism. They also explored ways to promote Somalia’s arts, culture, and tourism sectors as part of the country’s broader development agenda.
Minister Jama emphasized the Somali government’s commitment to advancing the media sector and enhancing public awareness to support peace and stability. For his part, Ambassador Justin Davis reaffirmed the United States’ support for Somalia’s ongoing efforts in these areas.
“Pleased to hold productive discussions with Amb. Justin Davis, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Somalia. We explored strengthening bilateral cooperation in media development, counter-terrorism public awareness, and the promotion of arts, culture, and tourism”, Jama said.
Both sides agreed to further cooperation to achieve sustainable progress in media, cultural development, and tourism, recognizing these sectors as vital components of Somalia’s recovery and long-term growth.
