Mogadishu(SONNA)-The National Armed Forces, in coordination with international partners, carried out airstrike operations in Tardho in Hiiraan region, Ugunji in Lower Shabelle, Daynuunaay in Bay, and Qumbi in Lower Jubba.
The operations, which involved six airstrikes, targeted Al-Shabaab militants and destroyed key enemy positions in those areas, which had been under close surveillance in recent days following observed militant activity.
The airstrikes killed 54 Al-Shabaab militants and wounded several others. They also successfully targeted supply stockpiles, significantly weakening the group’s logistical capacity, mobility and ability to organise attacks against Somali civilians.
