MOGADISHU (SONNA) — The Somali National University (SNU) has aggressively expanded its international academic architecture following a high-level executive deployment to the People’s Republic of China. A delegation commanded by the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mohamud Mohamed, successfully executed a series of diplomatic and educational engagements, resulting in critical bilateral agreements designed to strictly modernize Somalia’s higher education sector.
During this strategic overseas mission, the national institution formalized Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two highly influential Chinese entities: HiSign Technology and the renowned China-Africa Institute. These executive-level agreements focus directly on initiating joint research operations, facilitating high-level expertise exchange programs, and rapidly upgrading the structural quality of domestic higher education. By aligning with advanced technological and academic partners in China, the Somali National University guarantees its capacity to produce graduates fully equipped for a highly competitive global digital economy.
