Mogadishu, SONNA — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in cooperation with Al-Mahasin Foundation for Development and Education, has launched a humanitarian project to distribute Zakat al-Fitr assistance across the Federal Republic of Somalia for the year 1447 AH – 2026 AD.

The initiative forms part of the center’s broader humanitarian and relief programs aimed at supporting vulnerable communities worldwide, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

The project aims to distribute 10,000 bags of rice, each weighing 20 kilograms, to poor and displaced families living in camps, benefiting approximately 80,000 people across Somalia.

Priority will be given to the most vulnerable groups, including internally displaced families, orphans, widows, and low-income households in the Banadir region and South West State.

The implementation of the project comes amid ongoing humanitarian challenges facing Somali communities, including drought, displacement, and worsening food insecurity.

The initiative is expected to help meet the basic food needs of vulnerable families while also bringing relief and a sense of dignity during the blessed days of Eid al-Fitr.

Al-Mahasin Foundation for Development and Education expressed its pride in partnering with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, emphasizing that the project will be implemented in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and organization.

The foundation noted that distribution will be carried out in close coordination with local authorities and community committees to ensure that assistance reaches eligible beneficiaries at the appropriate time for Zakat al-Fitr.

The project reflects the ongoing humanitarian role of KSrelief in Somalia, aimed at alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations and promoting the values of solidarity and mutual support with affected communities.
