The initiative targets residents in Baidoa city and nearby villages who have been struggling with acute water shortages due to the prolonged drought affecting parts of the country.
The launch event was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Humanitarian Affairs of South West State, Abdullahi Ishaq Macalin (Wasiir Ganeey), and attended by the Assistant Commissioner of SoDMA, Abdirahman Wahid.
Following the launch, several water tankers were dispatched to deliver water to some neighborhoods in Baidoa and surrounding villages, where residents have been facing significant hardship due to lack of access to clean water.
