Mogadsihu(SONNA)-The Somali National Armed Forces, with the support of international partners, carried out a planned operation over the past 72 hours in Lower Shabelle region.
The operation, which involved both direct ground engagement and airstrikes, took place in Buulo Cabdalla, between Mubaarak and Ugunji, and resulted in the killing of 22 Al-Shabaab militants, including their commander, Cabdiraxmaan Jeeri, who was notorious for terrorising civilians.
The Ministry of Defence and the Command of the Somali National Armed Forces remain committed to intensifying operations of this kind in order to eliminate the remaining Khawaarij elements and strengthen the country’s overall security.
The Ministry also expresses its appreciation to international partners for their continued support to operations aimed at advancing peace and stability in Somalia.
