Halalaqsi, SONNA – The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission (INEBC) today officially launched a voter registration campaign in Jalalaqsi district of the Hiiraan region, marking a significant step toward advancing Somalia’s electoral process.
The launch ceremony was led by INEBC officials stationed in the district and attended by members of the local administration, underscoring coordinated efforts to facilitate citizen participation in the democratic process.
The voter registration campaign aims to ensure that eligible citizens in Jalalaqsi are duly registered to participate in upcoming elections, in line with the country’s broader transition toward one-person, one-vote elections.
Officials emphasized the importance of public engagement and encouraged residents to take part in the registration process to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
The launch reflects ongoing nationwide efforts by INEBC to expand voter registration and strengthen the credibility, transparency, and inclusivity of Somalia’s electoral system.
