According to official diplomatic communications, the targeted violence resulted in the deaths of more than 50 civilians and included the mass abduction of women and children. Through this official statement, the Federal Republic of Somalia affirmed its absolute solidarity with the Government and the people of Nigeria during this critical security crisis. The Ministry extended its sincere condolences directly to the bereaved families affected by the massacre while offering wishes for the rapid recovery of all individuals injured in the assault.
The Somali government is actively demanding the immediate and unconditional release of every abducted civilian held by these militant factions.
