Ankara, SONNA — The Audit Offices of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Turkey have officially concluded a Financial Audit Training Program in Ankara, marking a significant step toward strengthening institutional capacity and cooperation in public financial oversight.

The closing ceremony of the training program was attended by the President of the Turkish Court of Auditors, two of his deputies, and the Deputy Head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). The Somali Audit Office was represented by a delegation led by the Deputy Auditor General, H.E. Abdijamal Ismail.

The program provided Somali auditors with advanced training in financial auditing practices, contributing to the enhancement of professional skills and institutional effectiveness in public financial management and accountability.

In parallel with the training sessions, high-level meetings were held between the leadership of the Somali Audit Office, the Turkish Court of Auditors, and TİKA. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, sharing technical expertise, and expanding long-term institutional collaboration in the field of auditing and oversight.

During the engagements, TİKA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Somali Audit Office through capacity-building initiatives and technical assistance. The Deputy Auditor General expressed appreciation to the Turkish Court of Auditors and the Government of Turkey for their warm hospitality and the productive cooperation demonstrated throughout the program.

At the conclusion of the training, participating auditors were awarded certificates, underscoring the success of the program and its importance in advancing financial audit skills and promoting transparency and good governance in Somalia.
