Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Amb. Wang Yu.
The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of defence, military training, and support for the development of Somalia’s national security institutions.
Both sides also underscored the importance of safeguarding the territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the People’s Republic of China, reaffirming their shared commitment to respecting the sovereignty and unity of states.
The Minister of Defence expressed his appreciation to the Government of China for its continued support to Somalia and emphasised the importance of further enhancing bilateral cooperation to strengthen the capabilities of the Somali Armed Forces.
