Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Governor of Benadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), on Monday received his voter registration card in Karan District as preparations continue for the Benadir Region local council elections scheduled for December 25.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the National Independent Electoral Commission and Boundaries, MP Osman Xaadoole, the Deputy Governor of Banadir Region for Security and Politics, Mohamed Ahmed Diiriye (Yabooh), the Karan District Commissioner, and other government officials.

Mayor Muungaab emphasized the importance of the elections in strengthening democratic governance and public participation, calling on residents of the capital to actively take part in the voting process. He also praised President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud for his leadership in promoting inclusive elections that expand citizens’ voting rights.

The mayor noted that Mogadishu’s security situation remains stable, with security agencies maintaining readiness to ensure a safe and orderly electoral process.
