Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), today held a meeting in his office with the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro.
Ambassador Di Mauro briefed the Speaker on ongoing EU activities in Somalia and commended the Parliament for its efforts in enacting foundational legislation essential to the country’s state-building process.
The discussions focused on strengthening and accelerating cooperation between the House of the People and the EU Delegation in Somalia, particularly in areas related to legislative development, constitutional review and completion, and enhancing EU support to Somalia’s governance reforms.
Speaker Madoobe expressed his gratitude for the EU’s consistent support to Somalia, noting that Parliament remains committed to completing the constitutional process and restoring the Somali people’s full right to elect their national leadership.
