Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a series of planned operations in recent hours across the Middle Shabelle region, resulting in the elimination of 13 militants, including both fighters and commanders of the Al-Shabaab group. These operations targeted locations including Qoordheere, Hawaala-kulan, Reydableey, and the town of El-Baraf.
One significant operation took place in the Qoordheere area, which falls under the Raaga-Elle district of Middle Shabelle. This specific action targeted a group of militants who had been organizing in the area over the past four days. The operation successfully neutralized four militants and destroyed their temporary shelters and a weapons cache they had established under trees.
Concurrently, between the areas of Hawaala-kulan and Reydableey in Middle Shabelle, NISA forces thwarted a plot by the militants who were attempting to destabilize security. In this engagement, five individuals, comprising both fighters and commanders, were eliminated on the spot.
The third operation was executed in the Elbaraf mountains, situated two kilometers west of Elbaraf town in Middle Shabelle. This targeted operation focused on another group of militants who were reportedly planning terror activities. As a result, four more militants were neutralized, effectively dismantling their intentions.
These concerted efforts by NISA highlight the ongoing commitment to enhancing security and counter-terrorism operations across the region, aiming to bring stability and safety to the local communities.
