Algiers, (SONNA) — The Speaker of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), held a constructive meeting in Algiers with his Algerian counterpart, H.E. Ibrahim Boughali, who also serves as President of the Arab Parliamentary Union. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Conference of Arab Parliamentary Speakers.
Speaker Boughali welcomed Speaker Madobe and his accompanying delegation, expressing appreciation for their participation in the conference and their contribution to strengthening inter-parliamentary relations. He emphasized the importance of establishing mechanisms to deepen cooperation between the Somali and Algerian parliaments and praised Somalia’s role in promoting stability and development across the Arab region.
In response, Speaker Madobe thanked the Government and people of Algeria for their warm hospitality and for hosting the high-level conference. He stressed the value of enhancing bilateral ties, particularly at the parliamentary level, and highlighted the importance of legislative collaboration in fostering shared progress.
Speaker Madobe also commended Algeria’s longstanding commitment to Arab affairs and described parliamentary cooperation as a key avenue for exchanging legislative experience and strengthening fraternal bonds between the two nations.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to advance coordination and joint initiatives between the two parliaments, grounded in common interests and historic ties.
