Baidoa, Somalia (SONNA) – The Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mahmoud C. Sheikh Farah (Beene-beene), has praised the Southwest State for its significant progress in security and development. The Minister’s remarks came during a visit to Baidoa as part of a high-level delegation led by the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia.
Minister Beene-beene highlighted the Southwest State’s achievements in maintaining stability and advancing development initiatives, noting that these efforts align with the Federal Government’s broader goals of national recovery and economic growth. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Planning’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Southwest State to address ongoing economic and reconstruction challenges.
“The Southwest State has made commendable strides in security and development, which are critical for the region’s prosperity. The Ministry of Planning will enhance its cooperation with the Southwest to tackle economic challenges and support reconstruction efforts,” Minister Beene-beene stated.
The Minister emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration between the Federal Government and regional states in achieving sustainable development. He assured that the Ministry of Planning would continue to provide support to the Southwest and other regional states to ensure balanced and inclusive growth across the country.
During his visit, Minister Beene-beene also expressed gratitude to the leaders and people of the Southwest State for their warm reception and cooperation with the Federal Government. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with regional administrations to drive progress and improve the lives of all Somalis.
