Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army on Thursday morning foiled terrorists’ plot and attack in Balcad district in Middle Shabelle under Hirshabelle State, killing dozens of the militant members of Al-Shabaab at the agricultural area near the town according to military officials.
“U.S. Africa Command, alongside the Federal Government of Somalia and Somali Armed Forces, continues to take action to degrade al Shabaab’s ability to plan and conduct attacks that threaten the U.S. homeland, our partners, and civilians”, U.S Africa Command said in a statement, saying that joint forces conducted an operation against Al-Shabaab at Al-Kowsar area in Middle Shabelle in February 25.
These developments came as Somali National forces, local forces, Macawisley and international partners intensified offensive war against the terrorist militants in middle Shabelle and Hiiraan region in the past three weeks.
