MOGADISHU (SONNA) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia issued a formal declaration on Monday firmly condemning the recent terrorist attacks executed in Zamfara State, located in Northwestern Nigeria. According to official diplomatic communications, the targeted violence resulted in the deaths of more than 50 civilians and included the mass abduction of women and children. Through this official statement, the Federal Republic of Somalia affirmed its absolute solidarity with the Government and the people of Nigeria during this critical security crisis. The Ministry extended its sincere condolences directly to the bereaved families affected by the massacre while offering wishes for the rapid recovery of all individuals injured in the assault.

The Somali government is actively demanding the immediate and unconditional release of every abducted civilian held by these militant factions. Furthermore, Mogadishu explicitly endorsed Nigeria’s ongoing domestic security operations aimed at neutralizing the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

In a concluding strategic directive, the Ministry emphasized the absolute necessity of continental cohesion. The statement declared that Africa must maintain a united front against the expanding threat of terrorism and prioritize the protection of civilian populations across all borders.
