Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, inaugurated the 8th annual Mogadishu Book Fair today with the theme of “Connections through Books,”.
“I officially launched the 8th edition of the Mogadishu Book Fair today. With this year’s theme, “Connections through Books,” we celebrate the power of literacy in promoting critical thinking and developing analytical skills that enable our people to understand better and engage with the world,” Deputy PM Salah said.
This year’s event was attended by scholars, teachers, students, and Somali writers from various regions.
Mr. Salah praised Somali writers for their contributions to nation-building and fostering community intelligence, emphasizing the essential role of reading and writing for the country.
He also highlighted the Danish government’s commitment to promoting literacy and thanked the authorities and organizers of the Mogadishu Book Fair.
