Mogadishu(SONNA):- FM Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi led the successful repatriation of 164 Somali youth stranded in Libya under the Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) program. In collaboration with the EU, IOM, and UNHCR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation ensured the safe return of these citizens, with 55 arriving in Hargeisa and the rest in Mogadishu.

This initiative is part of the Federal Republic of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to address migration challenges and reintegrate its citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and key government officials reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding Somali nationals abroad and helping them rebuild their lives at home.

The event was attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Abdirizak Mohamed, Minister of Information Daud Aweys, Minister of Interior Ali Yusuf Hosh, Minister of Internal Security Abdullahi Sheikh Fartaag, and the Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs, further underscoring the government’s collective efforts in this important mission.
