Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Auditor General of the Federal Government of Somalia and a delegation he led participated in the 22nd Governing Board Meeting and General Assembly of the English-speaking African Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E), held in Monrovia, Liberia.
The high-level gathering brought together Auditors General, representatives from member Supreme Audit Institutions, and international development partners to discuss key issues related to public sector auditing and financial accountability.
Somalia’s Auditor General, Ahmed Issa Gutale, and his delegation actively engaged in technical discussions, cooperation opportunities, and experience-sharing sessions with fellow audit institutions and partner organizations.
The conference focused on strengthening audit quality, enhancing the use of modern data analytics in auditing processes, and improving oversight of public debt management to support accountability, transparency, and fiscal sustainability across African countries.
Participation in the forum provided Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General with an important opportunity to strengthen professional cooperation, exchange expertise, and keep pace with modern auditing practices adopted by Supreme Audit Institutions across the continent.
