Baledogle, October 9, 2024: The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has presided over the conclusion of an advanced training program at the Hassan Ture Training School for Danab forces. The ceremony marked the graduation of 150 non-commissioned officers and 200 officer cadets.
In his address, the President emphasized the importance of local training programs, noting that the newly trained Danab officers and non-commissioned officers had acquired critical leadership, operational planning, and combat skills. These competencies, he said, are essential for participating in the country’s liberation endeavors and securing long-term national security.
President Hassan Sheikh commended the dedication and bravery of the Somali soldiers and officers, highlighting that the successes in the fight against terrorism have been achieved through the unity and sacrifice of the Somali National Armed Forces in collaboration with the Somali people.
He also acknowledged the significant support provided by Somalia’s international partners, particularly the United States of America, whose training and assistance to Danab forces have been pivotal in enhancing Somalia’s military capabilities. Additionally, the President recognized the European Union Training Mission (EUTM) for its contribution to strengthening the Somali National Army and ATMIS for their role.
These partnerships, the president stressed, are crucial in ensuring the country’s stability and in furthering efforts to eradicate terrorism.
