Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, along with senior officials of the state, attended the National Funeral of the former Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari.
The President said that the late Speaker played a historic role in the development of the government, and dedicated to the reconstruction of our government, the development of the country and the building of government institutions in Somalia, he served his country in various responsibilities and was one of the leaders of the Somali nation in terms of life and wealth.
The President expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, some of whom he met at the funeral, asking God for patience and faith, and for the deceased to receive Jannatul Firdowsa.
The funeral prayer of the late Mohamed Sheikh Osman Jawari was attended by the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Governor of Benadir Region, Ministers of the Government, Members of both Houses of Parliament, and other officials.
