Dhusamareb, (SONNA) – The President of Galmudug State of Somalia, H.E Ahmed Abdi Kariye received the Acting United Nations Special Representative to Somalia, James Swan and a delegation he led at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting discussed the country’s situation, particularly the security and the fight against the Al-Shabaab terrorists, the constitution and the elections of the country, and also the projects implemented by the UN in Galmudug State.
“I want to express the deep concern of the UN in Somalia in regard to the recent, serious clan violence in some areas of Galmudug. We extend our condolences to the bereaved. I commend President Ahmed for his swift action to establish a regional ministerial mediation committee to help resolve the conflict,” Mr. Swan said.
