Mogadishu,[SONNA] – on January 29, 2024, Mr. Ali Omar, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, accepted a copy of the credentials of Mohamud Abdi Ahmed, the newly appointed IGAD Head of Mission in the Federal Republic of Somalia. The Acting Minister conveyed his best wishes for success to Mr. Mohamud, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the valuable relationship and fostering enhanced cooperation between Somalia and IGAD.
Speaking to the national media during the credential presentation, Ambassador Mohamud reiterated his commitment to strengthening relations, cooperation, and advancing economic and cultural development within the regional organization of IGAD and Somalia.
The appointment of Ambassador Mohamud Abdi Ahmed as the Head of IGAD Mission to Somalia by IGAD Regional Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, marks a strategic step towards enhancing collaboration in the Horn of Africa region.
