Mogadishu, (SONNA): The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe) today chaired the 31st meeting of the Standing Committee of the House of the People.
The meeting agenda was to report on the Speaker of the House of the People BJFS, present the report on the training of committees and finalize the Immigration Law of Somalia. In addition, the Standing Committee discussed and reviewed the candidacy of MP Marwa Abdibashir Haji, who is running for president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and reached a short list of candidates for the election, which included Somalia and three other African countries.
The Speaker of the House of the People and other members of the Standing Committee supported the candidacy of MP Marwa Abdibashir Haji, stressing the importance of Somalia winning the presidency of the World Parliament, and stated that it is a national issue that benefits the country and the people, and that everyone should participate in ensuring that victory.
