Galgaduud, (SONNA) – The Local forces launched a planned assault on Al-Shabaab hideouts in Haamcaduur, south of Qaayib in Galgaduud region, killing three militants and further crippling the group’s operations in the area.
According to Cadakibir District Commissioner Daahir Ugaas, who spoke to SONNA, the operation was carried out with support from religious leaders in the nearby town of Baxdo. The bodies of the slain Al-Shabaab fighters remained at the scene following the clash.
This latest offensive is part of a broader effort to eradicate Al-Shabaab’s presence in Galmudug, where the group is now facing pressure on multiple fronts and its strength is rapidly diminishing.
