A military operation carried out by special units in the National Army resulted in the killing of two Al-Shabaab senior commanders and several others wounded during the military operation in the outskirts of Balad located in the Middle Shebelle region.
During the military operation, the national army officers destroyed a base controlled by al-shabaab militias in the area.
In addition, the locals told the state media that the national army was currently present at the base which used to belong to al-shabaab militant group.
This military operation is part of the huge efforts made by the national army to eliminate the terrorists and secure the roads between the cities of Balad and Jowhar.
