Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), officially launched the Gole-Kaab initiative, aimed at fostering closer collaboration between Parliament and civil society.
During the launch, Speaker Madoobe commended civil society organizations for spearheading the initiative and acknowledged the support from various stakeholders. He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to increasing public participation by allowing civil society representatives to observe legislative sessions and debates, ensuring greater transparency and inclusivity in the lawmaking process.
The event was attended by several Members of Parliament, the Chairperson of Somalia’s Civil Society Organizations, and the Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to Somalia.
