BAIDOA, SOMALIA (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), convened an executive security consultation today in Baidoa with top-tier military and intelligence commanders to evaluate the resolution of a security disturbance in the interim capital of South West State. The high-level briefing was led by the Deputy Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Infantry Forces, General Abdullahi Adan Hussein (Cirro), alongside the Commander of the SNA 60th Division, Colonel Isaaq Berdaale, and the Regional Intelligence Director for South West State, Macalin Saalax Cabdinuur Cali.
During the session, the unified command structure provided the Speaker with a detailed tactical operational report regarding an earlier armed disturbance orchestrated by an irregular militia within Baidoa. The commanders outlined how multi-agency security detachments executed a swift, coordinated containment strategy to counter the hostile elements, effectively neutralizing the armed group and successfully preventing further civil disruption or damage to public infrastructure. The rapid deployment by the joint forces successfully restored total operational order to the city’s commercial and administrative corridors.
Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur expressed formal state gratitude to the armed forces and intelligence units for their proactive tactical intervention. Commending the courage and synchronization demonstrated across the various branches of the security apparatus, the Speaker emphasized that the preservation of the rule of law and public safety remains a non-negotiable requirement for regional stability. He further directed the regional security sectors to maintain heightened vigilance to preserve the peace dividend achieved in Baidoa.
