Rome, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is on an official visit to Italy, delivered a speech at a public meeting at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
In his speech, the President focused on the historical relationship between Somalia and Italy, the struggle of the government and the people to eliminate the Al-Shabaab terrorists, and the government’s plan to deal with the challenges caused by insecurity and conflicts and investment opportunities in the country.
President Mohamud emphasized the importance of uniting to eradicate terrorist groups to ensure a peaceful, progressive, fair world that shares opportunities equally and inclusively.
The President underlined that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to strengthening the deep relationship between the two governments and the people of Somalia and Italy through cooperation in the areas of security, stability and creating an environment for general development in all aspects following the Somali National Development Plan (NDP).
