Somali National Army and Ugandan AUSSOM Forces Neutralize Over 40 Khawaarij Militants in Strategic Defense of Mubaarak

MOGADISHU (SONNA) — The Somali National Army, executing joint tactical maneuvers with Ugandan forces operating under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), has inflicted massive casualties on Kharijite militant networks. In a highly coordinated defensive operation, the allied forces successfully repelled an aggressive assault targeting the strategic Mubaarak area within the Lower Shabelle region. This decisive engagement directly neutralized a severe terror threat aiming to destabilize a newly liberated population center.

During the intense combat engagement, the national and allied defense units maintained absolute battlefield superiority, eliminating more than forty Kharijite combatants. Furthermore, a substantial number of enemy fighters sustained severe injuries as the joint forces systematically dismantled the offensive formation. This heavy blow severely degrades the operational capacity of the militant factions attempting to project force and intimidate civilian populations in the Lower Shabelle corridor.

The Mubaarak district represents a critical geopolitical asset, having been completely liberated from terrorist control during the recent holy month of Ramadan. Recognizing its strategic value, the Federal Government has aggressively prioritized the physical rehabilitation of the area. Specialized engineering units are currently deployed on the ground, actively dismantling barricades and reopening vital commercial roadways that the Kharijite networks had previously choked off to strangle local economies. The militants’ failed assault was a desperate, tactical attempt to disrupt this accelerating pace of regional reconstruction and infrastructure development.

The Ministry of Defense and the Somali National Army High Command have issued a firm public directive following the engagement, affirming that continuous, high-tempo offensive operations will proceed without pause. The national security apparatus remains entirely mobilized to secure civilian populations and permanently eradicate terrorist elements from every corner of the republic. By fortifying these newly secured territories alongside international partners like AUSSOM, the administration guarantees that retreating militant factions will find no safe haven to regroup or stage future asymmetrical attacks.
