Somali Army, International Partners kill 20 Al-Shabaab terrorists in a joint operation

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army’s Special Unit(Danab) backed by International Partners killed over 20 terrorist members of Al-Shabaab at Shabellow forest areas southern Mudug region under Galmudug State in the central parts of the country.

The joint forces targeted Al-Shabaab terrorists on vehicles, burnt down and destroyed all their belongings including their military consignment, food, medicine and explosive elements during the operation overnight according to a statement released the Somali Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism on Monday morning.

The statement said that the operations’ primary objectives were to eliminate the terrorists and disable their network, saying it happened as planned and successfully.

The Somali National Army killed over 100 Al-Shabaab five days earlier in the same region while the Ministry also released another report of the military operations where 1,650 militants killed and 550 others injured in the past two months in Hirshabelle and Galmudug States in Somalia.
