Mogadishu, Somalia – SONNA: Somali Interior Minister Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh) held a high-level meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, Abdi Amir Kamil Al-Shamari, during the latter’s official visit to Mogadishu.
The discussions centered on key issues, including counterterrorism efforts, stabilization, national reconciliation, democratization, decentralization, and strengthening bilateral ties between Somalia and Iraq.
The meeting was attended by Somali Deputy Interior Minister Abdihakim Ashkir, Banadir Region Governor Mohamed Ahmed Amiir, Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) commissioner Mahmoud Moalim, and Somalia’s Ambassador to Iraq, Ridwaan Hersi Mohamed.
The engagement shows the growing diplomatic and security cooperation between the two nations as they address shared challenges in governance and stability.
