Mogadishu, (SONNA) — Officials from the Somali Disaster Management Agency, Federal Member State ministries responsible for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and the Banadir Regional Administration gathered in Mogadishu for a workshop on the Tri-Part Framework aimed at strengthening disaster management coordination across Somalia.
Hosted by SoDMA with support from WFP in Somalia, the workshop focused on enhancing collaboration, improving coordination of humanitarian operations, and strengthening preparedness and response mechanisms for disasters and emergencies.
Participants commended SoDMA’s continued efforts to advance disaster management in Somalia, highlighting the importance of the forum in promoting stronger cooperation and alignment among institutions involved in humanitarian response.
Dr. Ismail Jim’ale, Head of Projects Development at SoDMA, emphasized the need for closer collaboration among stakeholders to build a more effective and unified approach to disaster preparedness, response, and risk management nationwide.
