Baidoa, (SONNA) – Two senior government officials officially registered today at the Electoral Commission Office in Baidoa, marking a strong show of support for Somalia’s ongoing democratic process.
The officials included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Isaaq Mahmoud Mursal, and Deputy Minister of Planning for South West State, Mr. Mohamed Aden Mohamed.
Both leaders underscored the importance of public participation in the voter registration process, encouraging citizens—particularly in South West State—to take part fully. They emphasized that registration is the first step toward exercising one’s constitutional right to vote.
“Voter registration is not only a right but a responsibility,” said Deputy Minister Mursal.
“Every vote carries the power to shape the future of our nation,” added Deputy Minister Mohamed.
The National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) continues to lead efforts to ensure the process is transparent, peaceful, and trustworthy, aiming to build confidence among voters and strengthen democratic governance.
